Most of our close friends know that I started juicing for my son, Sayer, who wouldn't eat his veggies around the age of 2. As a first-time mom, I thought my child was the only picky one but after 3 play dates at Chick-fil-a, I quickly realized that every other parent can relate.
Sadly, most children do not get their daily allotment of fruits and vegetables (5/day) and the most common vegetable a child in America eats is the white potato. (Is that even considered a veggie?!)
We all need help getting our daily allotment of fruits and vegetables, especially kids! That's why Ginger Juice recently launched a kids line called Ginger Juice, Jr. - there are 4 flavors that kids LOVE:
Gabby: Carrot // orange
Gigi: Beet // apple
Gregory: pineapple // cucumber
Griffin: apple // lemon
The parenting struggle to get our kids to eat their veggies is real. I've come up with a recipe that every child DOWNS in 0.2 seconds, so I thought I'd share. It's my favorite juice/smoothie blend to make at home for Sayer. If you catch me in the shop, I'm happy to make it for you. Or, you can pick up a bottle of Goodness and add dates + banana. I promise your child won't put it down!
Juice: 2 green apples + 3 kale leafs + 2 celery stalks + a handful of mint
Combine juice in a blender with 3 dates + 1 banana + a pinch of (optional) salt (I use Pink Himalayan Sea Salt).
Fast forward from the age of 2 to now 4.5, Sayer will eat just about any kind of vegetable. He drinks a green juice at least 3x/week and the new juice + smoothie blend is his favorite! I had to share!
