- Pack ahead
One of the easiest ways to stop yourself from overindulging on goodies is to come prepared with your own healthy snacks. Whether it’s resisting the temptation of mall pretzels during a long day of shopping or the inevitable smorgasboard at every holiday party, bringing your own food makes it easy to fill up on the good stuff instead of caving in to the bad.
- Host healthier get togethers
Give the gift of healthy eating to friends and family by offering to host them this year! That way you can add more plant power to your meals, and make easy substitutions like kale salad instead of pasta salad, or fruit punch for real fruit and veggie juice cocktails.
- Make your first plate smaller
Everyone is guilty of it at one time or another-- finishing a completely full plate and then realizing what you really wanted was a second serving of mashed potatoes.
